The LA-based master of bass beats himself, Flying Lotus (Steven Ellison) will be appearing at the SXSW festival again this year. If you’re unaware of Flying Lotus, he has put out some great music and has collaborated with a lot of huge names in music including doing remixes (Reckoner) for indie rock kings Radiohead. Thom Yorke even came to Low End Theory in L.A. at Lotus’ request to spin a DJ set. He was also featured on the Songs for Endless Cities mix by Brackles which I reviewed here at The Couch Sessions a couple of years ago.
He killed it at the 2010 installment of the popular music and interactive festival while promoting his latest release “Cosmogramma” at the time. It appears he will be supporting more new material this time as Pitchfork (via “The Champs” podcast) reports his next album should drop in June and is titled “Until the Quiet Comes.”
“Fly Lo” will appear at one of two of the social DJ platform Turntable.FM parties on March 10, 2012 at ND. ?uestlove, Diplo, and A-Trak will be playing the Turntable.FM party on the 15th at 1100 6th East. For those attending SXSW.
