Sweden’s got soul. No doubt about it. My latest potential obsession comes from a prolific musician by the name of Oskar Sharp, who was introduced to hip hop in the 80’s through Quincy Jones (go figure). It was artists like Run-DMC, ATCQ, and Dilla that influenced Oskar to create his own inspired version of hip hop-soul – which you can hear via his new album, Songs In The Tree of Life; a collaborative record featuring vocalists & musicians from all over the world. The first(?) single, “Catch It” (featuring Omar) is really quite enjoyable … Relax, listen, & enjoy!
