We first brought you Shabazz Palaces back in March before their stint at SXSW. SInce then, the duo’s album Black Up is hands down my favorite hip-hop project of the year. Led by the former Digable Planets member (don’t call him Butterfly) and now Seattle-based Sub Pop records signee the duo creates some of the most ear-bending hip-hop I’ve heard in a long time. The new music focused brand Noisey caught up with the group during a performance at Seattle’s Neumos club.
The five part series blends live performances with a rare interview and a general overview of Seattle’s emerging hip-hop scene. Check it, and buy Shabazz Palaces’s Black up today.
