Common has been one of rap’s most consistent MCs. Yes, he goes the traditional route, but I love it when he throws us for a loop now and again. Even though “real hip-hop” fans didn’t like Universal Mind Control, I though it was more than a suitable album for the Chicago MC. However, it seems he’s going back to his more traditional hip-hop past with the track “Ghetto Dreams.” Is it me, or does this track sound a bit dated for 2011? What do you think?
