Body Language -You Can
Hands down one of my favorite EP’s to drop last year came from a band out of Brooklyn by the name of Body Language. Never heard of em? Yeah, most people haven’t. Yet.
This on-the-low quartet is comprised of Matthew Young, Grant Wheeler, Ian Chang and Angelica Bess and their stellar four track EP, Social Studies has quietly been floating around the net since last October
Body Language’s style of music would probably fall somewhere under the category of nu-style electro-funk/pop, which isn’t really a shocker because right now it seems like pretty much everybody and they mama’s are making this type of music. But there is something unique and refreshing about Body Language which is why I’m so hooked.
Although Social Studies is actually their second EP – it seems that they are now finally starting to receive some much deserved serious buzz – and these new live visuals to one of my favorite songs, “You Can” certainly will help add to it. The gentle instrumentation coupled with the back and forth vocals of Matthew and Angelica makes this a beautiful standout on a must peep EP. Check it out along with a couple of their other tracks below.[audio:http://www.thecouchsessions.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Body-Language-Social-Studies-EP-02-Falling-Out.mp3|titles=Body Language – Social Studies EP – 02 Falling Out]
