I recently found a free download of Dirty Vegas’ “Electric Love” on Amazon’s MP3 store and really love it! Now my favorite source for free music, RCRDlbl.com has made available another track from the British house trio’s upcoming release- their third overall and first in five years, also named “Electric Love.”
The track is a remix of “Changes” done by In Flagranti, the house duo of Sasha Crnobrnja and Alex Gloor who in their bio describe themselves as “trash essentialists” and their music “encapsulates all aspects of throw away culture from the 70’s.” Very interesting. Their new album “Worse for Wear” dropped April 4th.
This remix is featured on “Changes 2” which is the second release of the single and includes six other remixes which have been banged out by other great electronic acts such as Mike Monday and Shiny Objects. “Changes 1” includes an appearance by one of my favorite house masters, “Felix Da Housecat.”
The original track is a bright sounding pop dance number with guitar and much more peppy than their mega hit single (and Mitsubishi Eclipse commercial soundtrack) “Days Go By” and just as good as Electric Love, in my opinion. This remix is slowed down and the main vocal part has been virtually removed with exception of the main theme repeated throughout and played at different speeds. It also has a much heavier hitting bass line and is definitely more trancey than the original. In Flagranti have also added wonderful soulful female vocal samples throughout.
“Electric Love” drops on April 26th on OM Records. Check it out as well as these remix singles.
