Prince Terrance and his band, also known as Hussle Club, have been on my radar since the dudes at the Maroon Cafe got me on this summer, and since I’ve moved to NYC I’ve seen their presence more and more around the area.
The group mixes early 80s downtown punk and new wave with a modern rock flair. Don’t let the goth influences scare you, the group’s music is accessible, with almost arena rock aspirations. Tracks like “Loose Tights,” and the new NYC anthem (at least in my opinon) “Uptown/Downtown,” almost radio friendly.
While we await a full length project, the guys from clothing brand ????? have signed the band to a limited release vinyl EP, containing the tracks “Loose Tights,” and “She Sells Sanctuary,” along with remixes from the likes of Flinch and VHS or Beta. If you’re in NYC, the band will be opening for Chicago’s Hey Champ! at Tamanny Hall TONIGHT.
