Artist 2 Peep: Teresajenee

by Yvette Travillian

We first shined the Couch-light on St. Louis’ Teresajenee (Teresa Jenee) last summer after being put on to her beautiful R&B ballad “Paint the Roses Red”. It was love at first song. By that time she had already quietly dropped an EP one year prior called The Ecklectic , which to this day is still circulating throughout the web – and thankfully so. Because of the constant underground hype she’s receiving,  I randomly found another gem of a song (video) from her called “Freedom” … and I’m not sure how I missed it but I’m eager to share it in case you missed it too.

Teresajenee undeniably has a beautiful voice fit for R&B and she writes lyrics that are quite poignant and quite poetic (with dope beats to back her). Peep her music and listen to her. And if you’re in The Lou also peep her performing alongside (DJ) Solange later this month (deets here).
