Musically, I’ve never been completely sold on Yelawolf, but as a fellow Alabamian, I always had to support. However after seeign this video and reading his cover story in The Fader, I’m rooting for the dude. Before the Alabama native became a hip-hop sensation, he was homeless on the West Coast and working shrimp boats in Alaska.
San Francisco collective Yours Truly (who might have some of the best videos of the year) captures Yela in a way that no one else could, and this piano rendition of Pop The Trunk is nothing short of amazing.
