With summer almost upon us in the Southern Hemisphere, New Zealand is getting bombarded with international act announcements and music festival lineups, however, the current buzz on everyone's lips is coming from our own backyard. New Zealand's darling of Hip Hop and Soul, Ladi6 has dropped her long awaited sophomore album The Liberation Of to rave reviews.

After her stellar debut with Time Is Not Much in 2008, Ladi6 (aka Karoline Tamati) and her partner, Parks, spent six months in Europe touring with the likes of Gil Scott-Heron, Mos Def and Mayer Hawthorne, as well as taking the time to record The Liberation Of in Berlin.
