The REVIVAL: a Salon Concept
Are you ready for a Revival?
Writer/Poet Jade Foster’s “Black Church Maraca” was launched about a year or two ago “resurrecting the salon concept and breaking the envelope of safe space for today's queer artists and allies.” Connecting with the art and the artist in an intimate setting. Black Church… took a hiatus for a number of months and is now back on track as a tour known as “THE REVIVAL”. The tour will hit Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York and kick off in Foster’s hometown of DC on Thursday November 11th with Venus Thrash and J. Pope.
"With Black Church, poets all over DC opened their homes up to complete strangers so we could all have that opportunity to share,” says Foster.
Scheduled to join the tour in their respective cities are Yvonne Fly (NY), Queen Earth (MD), Ms. Wise (PA) and more. Ushers will be awaiting your arrival to escort you to your seat in preparation to hear the (spoken) word for each evenings service. Jade Foster will lead (host) the word as each of these lovely ladies imparts poetry to your ears and ultimately your souls.
