Digiwaxx Media has teamed up with one of D.C.’s hottest DJs, d. painter, to present “The Electro House Funk Dance Experience.” I know that sounds like a mouthful, but it’s actually a perfect way to describe this most excellent showcase of d. painter’s skills.
The mix starts off strong with Uffie’s “A.D.D. SUV ft. Pharrell” (she’s kinda like the European version of Ke$ha), and from there, d. painter does not let go of his groove grip. You’ll hear remixes of some of the most popular songs of 2010, including Katy Perry’s “California Gurls,” La Roux’s “Bulletproof,” and Cee-Lo Green’s “Fuck You,” as well as the club hits “Barbara Streisand” by Duck Sauce and “We No Speak Americano” by Yolanda Be Cool.
From start to finish, this mix is an instant party. Just hit PLAY, and you’re good. It really begs to be heard in a packed club with the bass blasting against your body. Lucky for you DMV residents, d. painter (formerly DJ Tru) will be playing a few more gigs before he permanently moves to L.A. next month. He’ll be playing Aftermass @ Paradox in Baltimore on November 27, MNS @ One Lounge in D.C., and The Fringe @ Steve’s Bar Room in D.C. (which will also be his farewell party).
