I’ve been hearing good things about Brooklyn’s Machinedrum for a hot minute now. The producer, who floats between hip-hop, electro, dubstep, and ghetto house has been gaining steam on the underground for a hot minute not, most recently with soul crooner Jesse Boykins III.
It’s Machinedrum’s (aka Travis Stewart’s) blending and mish-mashing of genres that got my attention. On one end he’s on some low-fi Flying Lotus type ish, the next he’s mimicking B-More club. Off the bat you can tell that this dude knows his skills and hopefully will be a producer to watch in the next year.
Many Faces drops August 16, on Lucky Me and the vinyl edition includes a T-Shirt and a demo cassette tape. If you can’t wait until then cop the digital on iTunes now.
