It’s unnecessary for me to go into my love for Pac because this would turn into a very long-ass article. But I’ll just say it started from “Brenda’s Got a Baby” way back when I was hella young (13 to be exact). It’s been almost 14 years since he died and I of course still can’t help but to ask myself that futile question that most hip hop heads ponder occasionally; ‘what if he was still alive? How would the game be different?’
Today would have been his 39th birthday and while in Atlanta his mother Afeni Shakur will be hosting (along with comedian Mike Epps) the second annual “Celebrating the Life of Tupac Shakur” event with performances from Too $hort, Rick Ross and Bun B; here in my world I’ll just be slappin’ his music in my headphones (starting with the two songs below) and thinking about how lucky I am to have been a part of the generation that was able to fully grasp and appreciate his music whille he was alive and I know there will never be another one like him. Happy Birthday Pac!
