As most of y’all know, Gilles Peterson is the reason that I started the site, and I pretty much model everything I do in music after him. Before the word “tastemaker” became trendy, Gilles was sitting in his Brownswood Basement selecting some of the some of the finest tracks from around the world.

Last year, Gilles dropped Havana Cultura, an amazing mix of Cuban music found and recorded while Gilles was in the Caribbean country. On top of that, he’s dropping a remix album for the project, bringing in the likes of Louie Vega, MJ Cole, 4Hero, and Carl Cox.

And it’s the magnificent 4Hero that drop their remix of “Think Twice.” If you don’t know, this song (one my favorite of all time) was originally recorded by Donald Byrd in 1974 (off of the amazing Stepping Into Tomorrow album, cop that!!!!) and sampled by J Dilla and Dwele on Welcome to Detroit.

Obviously, Gilles adds a Latin take on this classic tune, and 4Hero smooths it out even further.  A real good way to start your Tuesday.
