APPROVED EVENT: The Talented with Phil Ade, Christian Rich, and UCB, DC
CHRONICLE OF DC's NEW RENAISSANCE OF YOUNG ARTISTIC PROFESSIONALS
“Few people are aware that DC’s former lively U St. corridor predated the famous Harlem Renaissance of the early 1900’s. In this era black artists and professionals thrived through art and life. Today many young black people are working hard in their own individual pursuits, to bring the awe and wonder of that era once again. There are upcoming musicians, designers, models, directors, writers, stylists, and those of countless other fields. With the national spotlight already turned this way by the election of our nation’s 1st Black President, many are looking to the Nation’s Capital for viable entertainment”

A QUICK WALK THROUGH THE TALENTED…
Well, for the first event...the plan is to use the musical acts to draw attention to the whole lot of artists. For instance, the cocktail hour will work as a gallery opening, DJ Jerome Baker III (betterthanyours.net) will spin during this time and throughout the night, with light food (prepared by a local chef) and drinks (sponsored by local store Cork N Bottle) where patrons can converse and observe the works of: Coral Anderson (a local artist graduating from RISD in May) who will feature some work inspired by the featured acts; works from Lady Glock (local freelance photographer); a local set designer will preparing the stage setting. Aspiring fashion styling group Issue986 will be styling one of the headlining act Phil Ade prior to the event - the photos will be displayed in museum like fashion in the theatre - and the photography for the event will be done by 1st Impression Studio who will be recording the entire event, along with video direction by Marcus Richardson (DC native and Howard U film school grad). The audience will be limited to 100 patrons (or participants as I refer to them) that will play a large role in the entire production, because they will be able to interact with the acts through questions and other feedback. The Talented will also feature host Jabari Johnson (Howard U grad, of noted website iamjabari.com), who will act as a narrator directing the audiences attention from act to act, and featured artist. The main events will consist of the amazing music duo Christian Rich, who will be accompanied by DCs talented go-go band UCB, as well as 368 Music Group's young and talented artist Phil-Ade. The footage will then be produced as a part of a series of web-episodes to be documented on The Talented website. There MAY be a very special guest attending this event, but that’s information we must keep to ourselves! Sponsorship by Commonwealth DC.
