The Constellations – Setback
Let’s face it. For the most part, rock music is dead. Guitar rock has been on the decline for years now, replaced by Pop, Hip-Hop, Electronica, and anything else that doesn’t require the use of guitars. Bands who used to keep it real, now look like uber slick boy bands of the 90s (see: Kings of Leon).
However, there are glimmers of hope for rock music. Enter, the Constellations, who just signed a multi-album deal with Virgin Records. We first profiled the Atlanta band last year, and since then, their star has taken off. They combine Southern blues, funk, rock, and everything in between, and their debut album (set to be re-released next month) contains guest appearances from Cee-Lo and Asher Roth (recorded way before he was a “blog” name).
As someone who’s been praising these guys for a hot minute now (thanks to Radio Milwaukee for the look), I’m glad to see these cats get some success.
The Constellations will be playing DC on March 17th, as well as upcoming dates at SXSW.
