Work The Walls with Bryan Senyo and K La Rock at Black Cat Backstage, DC
by Winston "Stone" Ford
WORK THE WALLS | JAN 15 | BLACK CAT BACKSTAGE
K La Rock and Brian Senyo are back again to Work The Walls. If you
missed us the first time around, here’s your chance to catch the
Ashford & Simpson of the DJ game once more as we liberate the dance
floor in honor of the MLK holiday weekend. We’ll be bringing you
electro, synth-funk, booty bass, club, and disco with beats greasier
than Ice Cube’s curl circa ’89. No rules, no irony, no bamas. You know
K La Rock and Brian Senyo crank. And if you don’t know what that means
you haven’t been in DC long enough. K La Rock has been moving crowds
since 2002 and as one of the founders of the First Ladies DJ
Collective, she worked to put women DJ’s on the map in DC and beyond.
Senyo’s been on his grind since the late 90’s, first making a name for
himself in Montreal and Boston spinning house, UK garage, and dubstep.
Locally, the DMV natives have moved crowds at the Black Cat, DC 9,
Wonderland, Looking Glass, 9:30 Club, K Street Lounge, and more.
