When an artist releases a 13 song LP, there might be tens or even hundreds of recorded songs that never make the cut. Artists who have been in the game for decades, such as Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder have accumulated tons of songs that will unfortunately never see the light of day. A little gem of music just dropped on the Internet last week, in the form of a collaboration between The Jackson Five and Stevie Wonder. Buttercup comes to us from the “Unreleased Masters” compilation, which breaks into the vault of the Jackson Five and liberates 12 songs into the world.

Unfortunately it takes something as tragic as Michael Jackson’s death to have these songs see the light of day.

Nice cut, but I like the version that Carl Anderson cut in ’86 better. Thanks for this though!
