A few months back here on the site, we featured 22 year old Brooklynite Miz Metro, a rising and most diverse artist with tons of talent. The 22 year old as well as singing and releasing her debut album Unlimited, is also an artist and exhibit curator, 4.0 GPA student at SUNY-Purchase, has worked with Santigold, and has spent time as a VJ, party host, blogger and television personality.
Somewhere in that busy schedule, she’s coming down to make her DMV debut tonight at Winston’s Billiards and Bar in Rockville, MD, as part of what you can clearly see is a rather jam packed event.
Influenced by artists as diverse as Lily Allen, Fiona Apple, Etta James and sound that can be best described as Lauryn Hill meets Nellie McKay, she’s just dropped the video for her single “Trashion,” which I urge all to check out, as it’s a fun filled Brooklyn romp and very indicative of Miz Metro and her motivations. I definitely look forward to seeing the Couch Sessions extended family out in force tonight!
