I remember the Peter Bjorn and John interview with DC's Express magazine where the Swedish trio was both facinated and not surprised from the love they got from the hip-hop community. Even though they didn't set out to make a hip-hop album by any means, they used the same beat patterns and structures as a producer with and MPC machine would use, making the crossover almost natural.
Mick Boogie, who's at home with these mashups (check his Coldplay/Jay-Z one), must have been thinking the same thing. Re-Living Thing mashes PB&J's latest album with such artists as GZA, Kardinal Offishall, Wale, Talib Kweli, Bun B, Three 6 Mafia, Trouble Andrew, Amanda Blank, 88-Keys, Young Chris & Rhymefest, DJs like Jazzy Jeff and my favorites The Kickdrums.
