DC, get on this! The Future of Music Policy Summit is back in DC bringing in musicians, music industry execs, policy makers, and more. Panelists include such names as Daniel Ek Founder and CEO of the new Internet music sensation Spotify, Senator Al Franken, Ariel Cyber PR’s Ariel Hyatt, Google’s Johanna Shelton, Rhapshody’s Tim Quirk and more.
This year’s summit, which takes place on the campus of Georgetown University, is focused towards musicians more than ever before, bringing in such workshops as Music 2.0: How Musicians Can Use Technologies to Promote and Distribute Their Work and The New DIY: Creative Control in an Accelerated World. In addition there is a huge focus to bring in musicians from hip-hop, soul, R&B, and electronic genres.
