Let’s put this out there: I”m a HUGE fan of the Guitar Hero series.

However, there is a significant portion of the population that does not feel the need to wail along to Cream or Aerosmith. For the hip-hop crowd, there is DJ Hero, which drops in October for a retail price of $120. The kit, which consists of 1 turntable and a slider which will mix simultaneous tracks together, like the above video’s mashup of the Beastie Boy’s Intergalactic, and Bel Biv Devoe’s Poison. Several well known DJs make an appearance such as DJ Jazzy Jeff, and DJ AM.

At first I was skeptical of how this game would go down, and until I get my hands on it I don’t know if the gameplay will match its guitar based counterpart. However, with hip-hop being the preeminent music genre in America, this game was long overdue.
