Tour Dates: Wale and Colin Munroe

by Winston "Stone" Ford

Wale is embarking on his first nationwide tour and he’s taking his go-go band UCB and Couch Sessions favorite Colin Munroe along for the ride. The tour has already started, with dates in Richmond and Virginia Beach already covered unfortunately, but it’s a very good look at Wale spreads his go-go gospel all over the country.

I did wish that there was a DC date on this tour though. I understand that Wale and his people have the right idea going naitonwide, but a tour date in his home city would’ve popped off quite nicely, don’t you think?

WTF? I just don’t get why the DMV was snubbed. You already know how people here are. There is already some resentment toward him by DMV locals, now you do a tour without hitting DC or even Baltimore? Why wouldn’t he fight for a tour date in the DMV which has held him down thus far? I’m disappointed but I’m still copping the album, just like I bought every cover and everything else he’s been on but it’s still a blower.

I’m not surprised, at all…For someone that, “reps DC” so hard in the media, he has trouble showing that love(I feel), when he’s here…I’ve been at a few events with him, and he always looks like he doesn’t want be there, he’s pre-occupied, and has somewhere more important to go…Every time I’ve seen him perform, separate from the aforementioned times, it’s been mailed in…There’s other talent here besides dude, a good look would be bringing an opener from DC, along with the band…

I was gonna add something to this but urbansocialight and anonymous summed up everything I wanted to say.
