I know my readers in New York and LA might be tired of me jumping on the DC bandwagon, but I just had to show some love to Tabi Bonney, who dropped a new album this month simply called Dope. Bonney has been on his grind for years now–you might remember him from “The Pocket,” from his last album A Fly Guys Theme. Dope is in stores now.

Also, MTV2 has been profiling DC this month, which is a very good look for the city. The channel interviewed such artists as Wale, and the godfather of go-go Chuck Brown as well. These segments have been appearing all this last week on MTV2.

If you’re readers in NY & LA are sick of you jumping on the DC bandwagon they’re lame. You live in DC, what is 3-4 posts on DC artists gonna hurt?

Showing the hometeam love is always great. I love Tabi! I caught his set at the Adidas store in Georgetown, it was great! I downloaded the album from iTunes, and I’m in love with “Rock Bammas” and “Go Hard”.

Nah, I have nothing wrong with showing some hometown love, trust me. DC is gonna be that city in ’09!
