Common’s Universal Mind Control is still slated for release on December 9th, although I wouldn’t be surprised if it got pushed back again. So far, it’s getting a lukewarm reception from the blogosphere, and very little radio play. Of course, I actually like most of the tracks that have leaked including the two above. However, I’m that strange kid that loved Common’s Electric Circus too, so take my words with a grain of salt.

…Man, you don’t need to qualify your statements – “Electric Circus” was freaking genius. Personally I like what Com is doing here…making a slight left turn after “Finding Forever” which, although I appreciated it, came up a little short for me.

I agree with you on Finding Forever and IMO going left in rap music is the only way to go now, that is if you’re truly an artist and the status quo is conflicting with your creative energy. I need to hear the rest of the album to really make a decision, however I hope Common’s joint comes off better than Kanye’s.
