N.A.S.A. ft. Kanye West, Santogold & Lykke LiGifted

Lykke Li is a goddess. I haven’t posted about her (or my love for her) that much on this blog because I thought she would be a little bit to hipster for the hip-hop heads, but today I’m coming clean with my obsession with the Swedish songstress. I’ve got a heads up about this track from my boy in Brooklyn for about a month now, and it ended up leaking to the ‘net a couple months earlier than expected. N.A.S.A. (North America South Americal) is the new project from Sam Spiegel (brother of Spike Jonze) and DJ Zegon called The Spirit Of Apollo which drops on February 17th, 2009.

With so much talent on the track, I’m not feeling it as much as I should. Hopefully it will grow on me after several listens. The Kanye haters are gonna have a field day with this one.

This track is hot. I’ll be honest and say I’ve never heard of NASA before now, but I’ll definitely be on the lookout for the new album.

The track isn’t bad but it’s nothing spectacular

It is what it is. The beginnings of folks just trying to glut the airways with faux hipster non-imaginative un-hip trash pop. A great case of bamas gettin money. It’s good, but PREDICTABLE. VERY predictable. It’s made for being played in LvL X, Forever 21, and *gasp* Macy’s Girls Wear.

    Just sayin’…

I have to agree. This song is awful. Kanye phones it in, Lykke Li reduced to singing a wack hook, and Santogold is the only saving grace to the whole track. The production sounds mad disjointed and tacked together. You can tell that these artists werent’ even in the same room.

This is one of the reasons that the Internet is killing music right now. The song’s only existence was to get bloggers to jump–and you did (no offence cause this blog is dope). It was quickly thrown together to get some hipster buzz but will just as quickly be forgotten tomorrow.
