K-Salaam & Beatnick feat. Sizzla - Sail On

K-Salaam & Beatnick’s album Whose World Is This? has cemented itself as the sleeper hit of the year. Every song I have heard off of this album has been fire, and their collaboration with Sizzla might have to rank as my favorite. For some reason it reminds me of that Patra song, Time Fi Wine from her 1995 album Queen of the Pack (pick that up when you get a chance), only because like that song, it combines dancehall vocals over r&b/hip-hop instrumentals.

I remember K-Salaam when I live in Minneapolis. He used to DJ on the Rhymesayers radio show back in the day. Then he just disappeared and ended up in NYC. Then when I was in NYC, I bumped into him at the PPP show. He still got it.

That song is one of my faves on that album… I think “Whose World is This” is a dark horse for album of the year. I love love this album… I saw K-Salaam DJ with Tony Touch in NY and he was AMAZING!!!
