CHANGE.

4 years ago I was in Boston at the DNC Convention, working my ass off for Kerry. We all know how that turned out. After that point, I swore to myself I would never get into politics again. But damn, how can you not get excited about Obama? If you are as upset about the last 8 years of Rethuglican rule, then there is no other choice. As Dead Prez would say, this is bigger than hip-hop…

Obama

From Invincible Summer, which drops this fall (hmm……they should change the title, but Invincible Fall doesn’t have the same kick).

New Music: K-Salaam & Beatnick feat. Sizzla - Sail On

K-Salaam & Beatnick feat. Sizzla - Sail On

K-Salaam & Beatnick’s album Whose World Is This? has cemented itself as the sleeper hit of the year. Every song I have heard off of this album has been fire, and their collaboration with Sizzla might have to rank as my favorite. For some reason it reminds me of that Patra song, Time Fi Wine from her 1995 album Queen of the Pack (pick that up when you get a chance), only because like that song, it combines dancehall vocals over r&b/hip-hop instrumentals.

Michelle Obama at the DNC Convention

Seriously people, put down your Lil’ Wanye CDs and shell toes and watch history in the making.

My sister called me last night almost in tears after this speech and I see why. Obama ‘08.

Video: Hollywood Holt - Hollywood

Most of y’all will probably dismiss this as glorified tight pants hipster bullshit, but you haters can’t deny that this beat is sick! We profiled Chicago’s Hollywood Holt back in 2006, so I’m glad that he’s finally getting recoginition…or at least money for a video!
