Janelle Monae - Many Moons

Janelle Monae - Many Moons (Windows Media Streaming)

So I wrongfully predicted that Outkast associate Janelle Monae’s current project would go nowhere, but was proven wrong when P Diddy signed her to Bad Boy Recordings a couple months ago. Although fans were surprised and skeptical of the Bad Boy association, I doubt that Puff will turn her into another Cassie. So far, she’s still doing her own thing, and this major label push may be whats needed to get her mainstream attention.

Many Moons is the latest single off of her self-released project Metropolis Suite I of IV: The Chase, which was released last year. I’m actually liking this one a little better than “Violent Stars Happy Hunting,” and it has a certain pop sensibility to it, sort of like a female version of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy.” Time will tell if the mainstream catches on.

I almost got fired listening to this song! “The man” said I should refrain from such behavior.

I got out of my cubicle and started doing the rag top..atlanta knows what that is.

Oh well…this should be your Monday morning song for life! If this don’t wake you up…get some smelling salt.
