: The Couch Sessions Podcast - J*Davey

We here at the Couch Sessions have few things that we repeatedly post about. Few things hold our attention for that long. J*Davey, however, is one of those things that does hold our attention. Since their single “No More” hit the internet, we’ve been following their career. Being such long time fans, we were overjoyed to see that their debut concert was at DC’s well known 9:30 Club.

The duo shared the headlining title with The Root’s drummer and musician extraordinaire, ?uestlove. Opening for them was DC based Hueman Prophets and Detroit DJ, John Arnold. While J*Davey’s set wasn’t the only thing to look forward to in this show, their sexy song selections along with the heavy mood lighting that they had on stage was definitely the highlight of the evening. They opened their set with their single “No More” before going into a fine playlist of songs off their “Beauty In Distortion Bootleg” (the closest thing we have to a J*Davey album). It was a fantastic first performance that really gave DC something to talk about, though I’m not sure if everybody was really appreciating. (Haters!) All in all though, it was a great show and hopefully, we’ll get to see more of these Californians out on the East Coast.

The morning before their first DC appearance, we sat down with Jack and Brook from J*Davey and got to talk to them firsthand about their DC debut.
