The roots of Dirty Water begin at North Carolina Central University, where Joe D and Cool Cee Brown started hitting up the vibrant poetry nights and meeting up with the likes of Yazarah. After some failed attempts as members of jazz fusion band and go-go bands, the duo decided to combine their lyrical skills and beatmaking abilities to form Dirty Water.

These dudes are slowly gaining a foothold in the DC hip-hop scene. “Eat My Breakfast Alone” has been getting a little bit of radio play around the DC area, and there are some mixtapes floating around the block. Their debut album, Drowning is available at local record stores.
