Things you must know about me:

  1. Giles Peterson my favorite DJ of all time.
  2. I met this dude when I was in London, drunk off my ass, and I think I pissed him off. Can't remember.
  3. This dude is pure genius.

Without Giles, we wouldn't have heard of The Roots, Dwele, Jill Scott, or Amerie's “One Thing.” This lanky British chap is responsible for all of these groups breaking in the US. Who knew?

So this dude releases a new compilation album every few years to take advantage of his pimpitude. Last Year, it was Giles Peterson in Brazil. This year, it's The BBC Sessions, a collection of live performances recorded at the Maida Vale studios for his BBC Worldwide radio show.

Artists on this double CD include Beck, Beth Gibbons (of Portishead), N.E.R.D, Common, Cody Chestnutt, the aforementioned Dwele, and Roots Manuva. You know this ish is gonna be in my collection.
