Once again, we interrupt your daily scheduled postings and bring you a News Update.

The Marciac jazz festival, which began yesterday in Marciac, France is full of Brazilian flair. Well known Brazilian guitarist, Gilberto Gil is a headliner. Also scheduled to perform: American trumpet player Wynton Marsalis, Cuban singer Ibrahim Ferrer, the Blind Boys of Alabama, and Femi Kuti, son of Nigerian Fela Kuti.

Daddy Yankee is proud ot be the ambassador of Reggaton. Ugh.

Lil' Kim is getting a few things off her chest before she goes to prison. On her new album, she takes shots at 50 Cent, Foxy Brown and her old groupmates in Junior M.A.F.I.A

D12 member Proof is releasing his solo debut album Searching for Jerry Garcia on August 9th. Fellow D12 member Bizarre (the guy in the shower cap) also release a solo album recently entitled Hannicap Circus

According to a USAToday article, more television characters are turning into pot heads. Marijuana has been seen on programs like HBO's Entourage, FX's Over There, That 70's Show, and Showtime's Weeds and now conservative viewers are up in arms. Notice though, that the majority of these shows are on cable channels and therefore can be blocked. So if parents really want to keep their kids from watching, they could just not have cable.
