Some may think that Borf is the cooest graffitti artist ever. Others think he's just a snot nose kid from the burbs. Who seems to think very highly of himself:
Borf considers this his unwitting legacy: He's democratizing graffiti. People are decorating the District's streets, even if it's just to make fun of him.
What people don't seem to realize is that he is biting the style of one of the TRUE great political graffiti artists: Banksy
Banksy is a graffiti artist who specializes in stencil art. His work can be seen all across London both inside and out. He spray painted his graffiti on farm animals, thereby making his artwork not only mobile but alive as well.
The man even had the cajones to cross the pond and put some of his artwork in some of our museums: The Brooklyn Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Natural History AND the MOMA.
Banksy's DIY style has been influencing people around the world. The likes of Borf are becoming very common in a variety of places. But no one can really master it quite like Banksy has done.
